Christmas - done

Christmas was good.

Spent Christmas Eve with the in laws in Birregurra. Had a visit from Father Christmas on the back of a fire truck. There are photos, but she hasn't released them to me yet. We had a good feed, plenty of beer.

The niece got a lot of presents. She liked them all. She's good value.

Then it was back to my oldies for Christmas Day. No major dramas. Most of the meat was cooked before I got there, which made my life easier.

I got some cool presents. My sister and her son came along, and put a very nice message in a good book I was given by them both. The nephew was dressed as an elf. Excellent.

Mum and dad had a good time, and there was plenty to eat. I still have some ham left for lunch, but the pork and turkey went yesterday.

I was given a 4 hour stunt driving lesson by my partner. She will regret that in coming years.

Well, it is soon to be the count down to our trip to Korea. We leave on 25/1/07. I am soooooo looking forward to a break, and hopefully then a break from here too.

Keep your eyes open.

Almost Christmas

It is almost Christmas. I don't mind Christmas. It used to be a bit more hectic when I lived with the oldies, but now I don't, bring on the Christmas cheer!

We are off to her family on Saturday and then back to mine on the Monday morning for the traditional feast.

I picked the meat up yesterday, only $100 for pork, a turkey breast and a ham. Not bad, and I suppose there are a few benefits from working in the meat industry.

My off sider has resigned. went for more money. He took this year pretty easy, average start time of 8:50 and average end time of 4:10. Wish I could work those hours, so I am now advertising for a new job.

Not long now until we fly out to Seoul. Fuck, I am looking forward to it. Giddy up.

If I don't talk to you before, enjoy Christmas, and I hope Father Christmas brings you everything you want.

Fires

It was smoky here in Melbourne on the weekend. Not good.

There are a lot of fires burning, and some fuckheads in the Northern Metro area decided to start their own fire. How smart. There is a special dung heap in hell for idiots like them.

Anyways, I was up in Mansfield last week, and I have posted some photos I took while driving up there. They are posted below.

On a happier note, my partner and I have booked our trip to Seoul. Excellent. It will be cold and this necessitated a trip to Kathmandu for the purchase of cold weather clothing. Nothing like shopping for cold clothes on a 42 degree day!

They are all purchased and washed ready for the trip to Seoul. It will be fun.

Here are the photos. There are more on my Flickr site.

Weekend

I know I've been slack and not updated, but I have been busy.

Last week I did 1,300 kms in two days, so you can understand why I've been a bit rooted.

On Saturday, we went to a Drag production of Grease. Fun! I enjoyed it, although I am not a big fan of Grease. We went with Garry and Jay. Here is their Flickr site.

We all had a good time. There was a little dancing which was nice. And thankfully the room wasn't too smokey. We also stayed over the night, as we didn't want to drive home. I had good fun throwing various items of underwear at Jay. Eventually he got up. I would too, if I had someone's undies next to my head on the bed.

That's about it. It was my good mate Andrew's birthday today, and we went out last night for a feed with him. It was nice. Because it was such a late night I am a little rooted now. So it will be in bed after the West Wing for me tonight.

Looks like my partner and I are off to Korea to see my mate Phil. We will be leaving on 18 Jan and back on the 30. Will be cold, but I have done some deals on accommodation, so if we don't want to go out, we don't have to. I am looking forward to spending the time away with my partner. It will be her first trip to Asia.

More to come. Meanwhile, have a read of this story. Interesting.
